
The launch of the United Nations Science Prize, with a value of 250 thousand US dollars
A global award backed by Saudi Arabia has been launched to encourage young talents in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics at the United Nations.
The Al-Fawzan Foundation, in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and with the support of the permanent Saudi delegation to UNESCO, announced this announcement during the 212th session of the Organization's Executive Council.
And the first UNESCO International Prize, offered by the Kingdom, will celebrate the outstanding achievements of five young researchers from the five regions of the United Nations agency around the world, and will provide financial prizes totaling $250,000.
The selection process will be overseen by five jurors specializing in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and the winners will be announced every two years.
