The Central Bank of Kuwait issues a warning about “electronic fraud”

The Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hashel, warns

The Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hashel, warned, on Tuesday, of the necessity of continuing banking awareness efforts amid the rapid developments in banking services and related risks, most notably electronic fraud. He issued the warning in a speech he delivered at a ceremony held to honor distinguished Kuwaiti banks for their efforts in supporting the "Diraya" or "Be aware" banking awareness campaign.

He stressed that the Central Bank of Kuwait will spare no effort to spread financial and banking awareness and protect the rights of bank customers. He praised the efforts of all Kuwaiti banks in making the campaign a success and in communicating its messages to customers of the Kuwaiti banking sector through their digital platforms and social networks. The governor also said that the campaign included activities that contributed to the dissemination of content to increase public awareness of a range of topics related to financial and banking culture. The "Diraya" banking awareness campaign was launched at the beginning of the year with the participation of all Kuwaiti banks with the aim of raising public financial awareness across a wider segment of society.
